Herlitz Flash Game
I am sharing this project, although it is long gone. It was a Flash-based Facebook Likegate game. This fantastic project was also in collaboration with DOJO and their incredibly talented designers back then. I was a young pilot with the company for about 3 years, enthusiastic and open to new challenges. I teamed up back then with a younger Flash talent fella, with whom we worked for several years before splitting up.
I am sharing this project because it was an eye-opener. Until then, I was working primarily with advertising agencies in Bulgaria. When I got the project, I was stunned by the dedication, the attention to detail and the creativity it was made of - I never imagined there was such a process at all! Back then, the local agencies I was working with were all chaotic, with random ideas (yes, sometimes creative), the majority without depth and precision.
The game was drawn by hand by the designer. And not only was it drawn by hand, but she used Herlitz pencils for the mission! And of course, the background was squared notebook sheets. I remember the whole process from the initial ideation through vectorisation to animation. We thought of everything, but it. was. easy. because the designer was a professional. She thought ahead about which parts would move (yes, the character had several expressions, and it was actually a platform runner), the background was seamless. We had 3 different levels, each with its own obstacle sets, jump and duck, and, of course, sounds.

The project was multi-market - covering German, Hungarian and Romanian markets, and we have everything translated properly. It was a hard task - maybe a month and a half, and there were points distributed and saved to the server, resetting each day, and more complexities coming from time zones, but overall, it was accepted very well across all markets.
To wrap up
This game was made more than 10 years ago. Since then, we had many other games, switched to HTML5 with animations, GSAP and Tree.js. So if you're wondering, can we do something interactive like the Herlitz promo campaign? Yes, ITWS EOOD definitely can deliver this as we are battle tested in imagining and crafting such solutions.
